Web Development Series and Tools for Teaching Workshops The eLearning Programs and Support Center (eLPS) is offering one-hour, hands-on workshops that provide basic instruction of how to work with programs, such as Flash 8, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and MERLOT, to improve the appearance of your web content. Also available are workshops on several eLearning programs, including plagiarism prevention, building online quizzes, working and enhancing Microsoft files, working with video, and data analysis with SPSS. (Open to CSULA faculty.)

The Art of Chess: The Munitz Chess Collection The exhibit features selections from the 52 fine chess sets and more than 350 volumes of chess literature donated by Cal State L.A. Trustee Professor and former CSU Chancellor Barry Munitz to the University Library Special Collections.

EPIC’s Annual Toy and Food Drive EPIC’s drive focuses on providing food and toys to low-income families during the holiday season. This initiative gives students, clubs, organizations, and all members of the campus community the opportunity to make a positive contribution in the greater Los Angeles area. In addition to collecting monetary donations, non-perishable goods, and new or used toys (in good condition), EPIC also conducts a prize drawing. All proceeds from the prize drawing ticket sales will go towards the purchasing of necessary toys and food for the recipient families.

Graduate Thesis Exhibition: “Investigations in Absurdity” and “It’s Your Turn” Bill Faecke’s “Investigations in Absurdity” produces large ink drawings on raw canvas. Therein, reproductions of found etchings and renderings collide with mark-making that harnesses the intense and often manic energy of his video performances.
Howard Schneider’s It’s Your Turn” is a three-dimensional, physically interactive installation. Viewers are encouraged to be involved with the art itself in order to complete the viewer experience. Counter Intelligence Taking its name from Jonathan Gold’s Pulitzer Prize winning LA Weekly column, Counter Intelligence is an exhibition inspired by food. Consisting of sculpture, photography, video, and performance, artists examine the social, political, and historical origins of food as well as simply celebrating it.
