Web Development Series and Tools for Teaching Workshops The eLearning Programs and Support Center (eLPS) is offering one-hour, hands-on workshops that provide basic instruction of how to work with programs, such as Flash 8, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and MERLOT, to improve the appearance of your web content. Also available are workshops on several eLearning programs, including plagiarism prevention, building online quizzes, working and enhancing Microsoft files, working with video, and data analysis with SPSS. Graduate Thesis Exhibition: “Investigations in Absurdity” and “It’s Your Turn” Bill Faecke’s “Investigations in Absurdity” produces large ink drawings on raw canvas. Therein, reproductions of found etchings and renderings collide with mark-making that harnesses the intense and often manic energy of his video performances.
Howard Schneider’s It’s Your Turn” is a three-dimensional, physically interactive installation. Viewers are encouraged to be involved with the art itself in order to complete the viewer experience. Sisterhood Circle This quarter, Sisterhood Circle focuses its weekly discussions around the powerful novel Push by Sapphire, which follows a young woman who is struggling with issues of identity, domestic violence, and teenage pregnancy in Harlem. After the final discussion in November, participants may attend a screening of the film Precious (based on this novel), directed by Lee Daniels, at a local theater.
